Unpredictability, an ambition for the ground forces. February 2021. On Thursday 4 February 2021, the Center for Doctrine and Command Teaching  organizes a military thinking conference at the Ecole Militaire. It will take place at the amphitheater Foch at 2PM. In a world with ever-changing threats and a looming specter of war, Army intends to reflect on the notion of unpredictability. It could be defined as a way to disrupt the perception of reality by hiding their intentions, creating difficulties to conceive and assess the ongoing actions.

 

To face high-intensity, what tactical commander for tomorrow? February 2020. On Thursday 6 February 2020, the Center for Doctrine and Command Teaching  organizes a military thinking conference at the Ecole Militaire. It will take place at the amphithéâtre Foch at 2PM. Despite combat action of extreme violence, the tactical ground commander has mainly conducted stabilization or normalization operations in the last decades. Due to the foretold return of high-intensity warfare, the tactical commander will undoubtedly face a wide spectrum of human, material and informational chaos for extended periods. This inevitable conflict evolution compels Armed Forces to rethink the status and abilities of the commander, namely, what he must know, understand, decide and embody to defeat an enemy in a high-intensity conflict.

 

Long distance warfare, winning on contact. February 2019. Thursday 31 January 2019, the Center for Doctrine and Command Teaching (CDEC) will organize a military thinking conference at 2pm in the Amphitheater Foch, Ecole Militaire.

Military Action and Sovereignty. February 2017. Edited by the Center for Doctrine and Command Training, this edition contains the presentations made at the first French Army conference on military thinking. Addressing the theme of military action and sovereignty, the conference took place on 19 January 2017 at the École Militaire in Paris. Nearly 300 participants showed up (representatives from political authorities, the military, industry, universities and the media), who all had a vested interest in the employment of our Land Forces and defense issues.
